This is a museum quality original Glockenspiel. It includes 6 incredible brass resonating chambers w labeled musical brass bars.
All the parts and pieces of this incredible instrument are original except for the small felt circle pads and strings that hold the bells in place. The stand is in great shape, it is sturdy with intricate hand carvings on both sides. The bars, chambers and stand show some typical wear from age. The two black mallets are modern replacements.
I believe this item to be made in the United Kingdom sometime in the late 1800's / early 1900's. The entire unit measures about 33" (tall) x 22" x 12". This was acquired from the original owners and has been carefully stored away for years.
